Fujitsu North American Scanner Division Executive Headshot of President and CEO casual.jpg

Photographs of C-suite executives of Fujitsu North American Scanner Division

Cannonball SF commissioned me to photograph the C-suite of Fujitsu’s North American scanner division. We provided hairstyling and makeup for the executives and needed to create two versions of each photo: one formal and one Silicon Valley Casual.

The pandemic was still on, and their HR wouldn’t allow anyone into their offices, so the shoot had to be in my studio. Fortunately, I was well prepared. My studio was conveniently located, and I met or exceeded all the safety requirements set by CDC and the county.

We sent a customized scheduling link to each of the executives to select the time that was best for them. The shot required two days, and the art director, Andrew Schmeling, attended each day to ensure the images met the expectations and guidelines of the advertising agency, web designers, and graphic artists.

I worked with each person for about 20 minutes, coaching them through their session to create headshots that captured the personality and charm of each person. Everyone enjoyed the experience and loved the photos.

It was a lot of fun to work with the guys from Fujitsu. I was concerned about how I would coach them in expressing themselves because I had very little experience working with Japanese nationals. I found that as a group they were much easier to coach than many Americans. Each person had a very good idea of who they were and was eminently comfortable in presenting themselves with a complete lack of self-consciousness. The few American's that were on the executive team had the same degree of self-awareness and comfort with their identity.
