6 Tips to Help Anyone Get a Good Company Headshot

We all want to make a good impression in our company headshots. There are some simple things you can do to make sure you get a good company headshot.

  1. Hydration. The first thing you should do is be well hydrated. Well-hydrated skin has a deep healthy glow, and the extra moisture will soften the edges of your smile lines. Drink lots of water for a few days before the shoot.

  2. Pick the right clothes. Carefully choose which shirt you plan to wear. Turtlenecks will enhance a long slim neck. This is why Steve Jobs wore them all the time. They made him look good. Turtlenecks on a short neck are not a good idea. I suggest necklines that mirror your jawline.

  3. Layers are fantastic. Wearing a professional jacket, blazer, or sport coat over almost any nice shirt will look great and is a very professional look.

  4. Color is important. Choose a color that compliments or matches your eyes. The match doesn't have to be perfect.

  5. No strong patterns or logos. You don't want anything distracting people from the sparkle in your eyes. Any loud colors like a school logo or complex design like a flannel shirt will compete with your face for attention.

  6. Jewelry. No statement pieces keep the jewelry small on conservative: studs or a diamond pendant. This is your moment in the spotlight, don't upstage yourself.

A cowl neck sweater can br draped to compliment almost any woman's jawline.

Other than how you dress, it's essential to take the time to relax, do the superhero pose before you step in front of the camera. I could talk for hours on this subject, but these six tips will help you look your best in your company headshots whether you're in San Jose or Denver.
